Altar & Rosary Society

One of the treasures of St. Michael's Church is our Altar & Rosary Society. Our story began when the priests Redemptorists came to our parish and they inspired the parishioners organize themselves to pray the Holy Rosary and to serve with the needs of the Altar and liturgical services. We pray the Rosary before every other Sunday's Liturgy (except the Great Lent). Members of the Altar & Rosary Society care for the linens and vessels used during the celebration of Liturgy. We hold Bake Sale during the Fish Fry / Pirohi sale every second Friday of month.

The Parishioners of St. Michael's Church may join the Altar & Rosary Society by contacting Fr. Michal. Contact: stmichaelmerrillville@parma.org

Dead Theologians Society

The Dead Theologians Society (DTS) is a Roman Catholic apostolate for high school-age teens. Through the Saints of yesterday, the Dead Theologians Society inspires the youth of today to become the saints of tomorrow. Society members meet to learn the lives of the Saints - who are only dead by the world&pos;s definition and are certainly alive with Jesus in Heaven.

Their lives of heroic virtue continue to inspire and by using the interesting and engaging DTS format and through the examples of the Saints, young people are catechized and develop positive role models at a time when they are truly needed. In addition, members make use of time-honored Roman Catholic prayers, devotions and sacramentals such as, Eucharistic Adoration, the Rosary, the Brown Scapular of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, and more! A special charism of DTS is to pray for the Souls In Purgatory.
